Town Hall and Services
Profile
The town of Springdale is the economic and business centre of the Green Bay area, serving smaller outlying communities with a total market area of 12,000.
The community has its roots in the primary recourse industries of logging and mining. Involvement in the logging industry began in the late 1890s and continues to this day. Mining quickly followed and over the years a variety of mines have operated in the area.
The Green Bay-White Bay region is the most heavily mineralized place on the island and Springdale has become the technical and service centre for mining companies. Mining support services such as drilling, analytical, prospecting and mapping companies are well represented here. While mining activity has decreased in the past decade, this community was determined to maintain its mining infrastructure and, as a result, is now able to capitalize on the renewed interest in mining exploration and development. Exploration activity in the immediate area is going and includes a focus on two gold deposits.
The availability of land, the presence of an industrial park, attractive tax incentives, and a skilled labor force makes the town an ideal location for new manufacturing-related opportunities, as well as transportation and distribution services.
If you have an idea for a new business or are looking to expand or relocate an existing enterprise, consider you options at Springdale.
Springdale is a wonderful blend of a community busy at work, with the natural surroundings. With a quality of outdoor life that is second to none, Springdale has everything you are looking for-business, tourism, recreation and nature all in a relaxing, friendly small town environment.
