Saint Nicholas (Nicky) June 2008 - July 2014
REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND...TIL WE MEET AGAIN.
Nicky was our Newfoundland Dog. Our big boy has been gone now since July 2014. Nicky was a wonderful addition to our family and to the retreat. He was our mascot, our greeter and most of all our baby.
The Newfoundland Dog is an icon of this province and known world wide for their gentle nature and their lifesaving abilities with their web feet and natural swimming ability.
Nicky was naturally drawn to the ocean and he insisted on his morning dip and a walk on the beach every day before settling in for a nap. Nicky was the first to welcome our guests during the years before he passed. He instinctively sat waiting for his photo shoot with guests before they departed.
For all the people who visited and had the opportunity to meet Nicky, feel free to send your pictures and memories and I will proudly post them on the website, as a special tribute to him.
Quote from Newfoundland & Labrador Tourism... A LAND THAT LIVES BY THE SEA...NO WONDER OUR DOGS HAVE WEBBED FEET. IMAGINE THAT!
....LIKE A DUCK TO WATER!
