You Are Adopted

He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will. Ephesians 1:5 One of the most amazing things about adoption is that choice is involved. Think about it. Although we love our biological children dearly, we didn't get to choose them, did we? But in adoption, the child becomes part of a new family by the adoptive parents conscious choice. So it is with God. Scripture tells us that God knew us before we were born and that He had already made the conscious decision to adopt us into His family. That choice wasn't made out of obligation. God didn't think, Well, I created this person, and even though he\she messed up their life, I guess I'm somewhat responsible to help them out. Not a chance! Paul tells us that God's adoption of us is not only His will but also His pleasure! Adoption isn't cheap. It is costly. Any parent who has ever adopted can testify to the strain it puts on their bank account. Our adoption by God was the costliest in history. He paid for us with His very life! On top of that, He is forever patient with us in our times of confusion, bitterness and rebellion. God knew you before you were born. He chose you long before you knew He even existed. And He loved you enough to pay the price of adopting you as His child. Blessings!! Major Collin

Christian Pumpkin

Being a Christian...is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up, takes you in, and washes all the dirt off you. He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all the yuky stuff...including the seeds of doubts, hate, greed, etc. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside you to shine for all the world to see.

I am in awe...

God thought of thunder, wind, oceans, eclipes, auroras, rainbows, continents, ice caps, snow flakes, stars, moon, the universe
and ME !

Thought for today....

We're not nearly as big and competent and invincible as we think we are.  Our shoulders
just aren't big enought to carry the weight of the world - and yet somehow it keeps spinning. Maybe that should tell us something.      Thomas Kinkade

Beatitudes for Married Couples

Blessed are the husband and wife who continue to be

affectionate, considerate and loving after the wedding

bells have stopped ringing.

Blessed are the husband and wife who are as polite

and courteous to one another as they are to their friends.

Blessed are they who have a sense of humor, their

marriage shall be much brighter.

Blessed are the parents who abstain from alcohol (I

would add ", tobacco, and drugs"), their children will

surely follow their example.

Blessed are they who are faithful to each other and

mutually helpful. God will surely guide them.

Blessed are the husband and wife who thank God for

good things which come to them. They shall receive both

good things and thankful children.

Blessed are the parents who recognize their children

as gifts from God, their home shall be filled with love.

Blessed are those mates who make their home a place

"where seldom is heard a discouraging word". They shall

inspire others to do likewise.

Blessed are the parents who attend and support their

church. Their children shall develop a strong fauth.

Blessed is the couple who are good stewards of all

God's gifts, their children will bless them and follow

their example.

Blessed are all those whose lives are a testimony of

faith in God, they shall be the channels through which

God's kingdom will come on earth.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow them all the

days of their lives and they shall dwell in the house of

the Lord forever.

Don't Assume

Don't assume that God dismissed you from His mind,

Don't assume that God forgotten to be kind,

For no matter what you do, His love still follows you,

Don't think that you have left Him far behind.

Don't assume that God will plan for you no more,

Don't assume that there's no future to explore,

For your life He'll redesign, the pattern be divine,

Don't assume that your repentance He'll ignore.

Don't assume you cannot give what He'll demand,

Don't assume that God condemns you out of hand,

For He gives to those who ask,

His grace for every task,

Don't think that God will fail to understand.

For, His love remains the same,

He knows you by your name.

John Gowans- Salavtion Army Song Book # 44

Live within me.

Go before me, Lord To show me the way.

Go behind me, Lord To encourage me.

Stay beside me, Lord To befriend me.

Fly above me, Lord To watch over me.

But most of all, Lord

I ask You this one thing;

Live within me, Lord

To give me power.

In Christ

In Christ we have . . .
A love that can never be fathomed,
A life that can never die,
A righteousness that can never be tarnished,
A peace that can never be understood,
A rest that can never be disturbed,
A joy that can never be diminished,
A hope that can never be disappointed,
A glory that can never be clouded,
A light that can never be darkened,
A purity that can never be defiled,
A beauty that can never be marred,
A wisdom that can never be baffled,
Resources that can never be exhausted.
Jesus is our all in all!

Isaiah 40:31

"They that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength;they shall mount up with wings as eagles;they shall run and not be weary;they shall walk and not faint". Isaiah 40:31

Prayer for those who live alone

I am alone dear Lord, stay by my side,

In all my daily needs, be thou my guide,

Grant me good health, for that indeed I pray,

To carry on my work from day to day.

Keep pure my mind, my thoughts, my every deed,

Let me be kind, unselfish in my neighbor need;

Spare me from fire, from flood, malicious tongues,

From thieves, from fear, and evil ones.

If sickness or accident befall

Then humbly, Lord, I pray, hear Thou my call,

And when I'm feeling low or in despair

Lift up my heart and help me in my prayer.

I live alone, dear Lord, yet have no fear,

Because I feel Thy presence near.

The Warriors Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Your warrior prepares for battle.

Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on

the Whole Armour of God.

I put on the Girdle of Truth!

May I stand firm in the Truth of Your Word

so I will not be a victim of Satan's lies.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness!

May it guard my heart from evil

so I will remain pure and holy.

I put on the Shoes of Peace!

May I stand firm in the Good News of the

Gospel so Your Peace will shine through me

and be the light to all I encounter.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation!

May I keep my mind focused on you

so Satan will not have a stronghold

on my thoughts.

I take the Sword of The Spirit!

May the two - edged Sword of Your Word

be ready in my hands so I can expose

the tempting words of Satan.

By Faith, your warrior has put on the

Whole Armour of God!!

I am prepared to live this day

in Spritual Victory!!
